Where to begin? At 18 years old my passions were art, music, and politics. I recall writing on a wall 'can you tell me why the world which lives within me isn't the world which I live within?' I figured the history of art and rock n roll would not provide the answers needed so I went off to University to study International Relations.

I gained a 1st in International Studies at Kingston University and was awarded a scholarship for an MA and a PhD in the Department of Politics at the University of Sheffield. The PhD was entitled 'Genocide and Its Threat to Contemporary International Order' and was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2013. It was during the PhD that I formed the band White Circus Fever (see music page).

I now work as an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics at the University of Leeds. During Lockdown 2020 I began to paint again (see art page) and I am pleased that my artwork on Syria was recently published in an art magazine.

As a new Father I began to think about putting my work together so that my daughter can see it when she grows up.  A good friend put our music on-line so setting up a website seemed the next step. Thanks for stopping by.
